2014 Austin Hall

Austin Hall is the new home for the College of Business. This new building provides much better access than their former Bexell Hall location. The building design addressed accessibility above and beyond ADA requirements in many areas, including: every entrance being accessible, all entrances having automatic door openers, large public restrooms that are doorless, single user restrooms having automatic door openers, and wide gracious corridors and doors.

In addition to the building, the Austin Hall project also improved connections to the building from the rest of campus by:

  • addressing the entire sidewalk on the north side of Jefferson Way from 26th to Sackett Place,
  • improving sidewalks from the MU Quad north of Fairbanks to the building site by widening them,
  • adding crossings at multiple locations along Jefferson Way, Sackett Place, and 26th, and
  • rebuilding most of the Fairbanks Hall parking lot to add 10 accessible parking spaces for access to all of the building in the immediate vicinity of Austin Hall - including the other new buildings APCC and the Classroom Building.
